Check Engine Light! Solid Led? Whats wrong? Need HELP ASAP!!!
I did a search but couldnt find anything. Out of nohere Im getting a solid LED on my PR3 ECU about 10 seconds after I turn the key to power on. I checked my wiring an everything seems secure. I also chipped the ECU about a week ago but its been running fine ever since. If i drive the check engine light goes on and off randomly and then the light is on i cant rev over 3k and the car idles VERY low. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Ok, both O2 sensors are UNPLUGGED. Is that bad? I would think that would just give a 1 or 2 error code but the light is on solid before I even start the car. Also, this is a NON-OBD PR3 ecu from a first gen b16a. I dont think you need to put in the service connector to see the codes. They always flash without it so the only use i could see for the service connector is to set ignition timing. Keep in mind the car still starts and runs but its in limp mode or something because i cant go over 3000 rpms.
yeah thats true but the problem with the pr3 is it needs 2 O2 sensors and I only have 1 on my header so I could hook up one of them and get a check engine light or I could hook both wires up to 1 O2 sensor and the engine would run very rich. Besides Ive been running without O2 sensors for a year now without problems and i have never seen a solid led on the ecu nor has it ever only reved to 3000 before. Still think I should hook up those sensors? Any other ideas?
Sorry to ***** your thread, but on my itr, my 2ndary O2 started shorting out against the body of my car. Now that it's unplugged, I have yet to get any CEL whatsoever. What's the dealio? I hear people complain all the time of CEL's for they're 2ndary..

Ok I resoldered the chip socket and reseated the chip and no more check engine like
but it sure had a hard time starting, ran rough at first, and it idles really low even when the motor is cool. Its been sitting in the sun all day. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I had that problem once, but i just reset the ECU and it went away. If its idles low then asjust your idle when the car warms up. I dont think it has to do with the car sitting in the sun.
my idles is set properly. The solid light came back last night but now i supspect one of the O2 sensor wires it shorting to the ground because they were hanging loose so capped them. We will have to see if the light comes back on. If one of those wires was grounding, I guess it could have made the ecu think there was a major wiring problem.
