Default Check engine light problem...

I think my ECU gets reset every time I turn off my car. Like when my o2 sensor went out. I got the CEL, but when I shut off my car (like to park or something) and started it back up. The CEL would be gone, then after about 10 minutes it would come back on.

Also, I have a canadian honda. So I don't have the ELD, but I have an american LS motor. So I have that code for the ELD, but the CEL never comes on because of it. The code is just there when I check for codes.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Turning off the ignition will re-set the CEL until a problem causes a code again. In your case, the engine has to warm up enough to recognize the O2 sensor isn't working right.

The ECU stores trouble codes in it's 'memory'. The CEL will not light up unless there is an active fault. To clear the memory, pull the back-up fuse for 10 seconds.
