Weird problem
My CEL light is not on, but when I went to get it inspected they pulled a couple codes. 2 were for the o2 sensors, the others I didnt bother to listen to. the bulb is good, cause I already checked that. Anyone have a similar problem or know whats going on?
Shouldn't stored codes (freeze codes) should turn the CEL on. Pending codes will not turn the CEL on but will come up when scanned, if the pending code persists often enough it will become a trouble code which will turn the check engine light on. When the trouble code persists long enough it becomes stored in the computer as a freeze code and this is the only case in which the CEL won't go off until you clear the ecu.
well I m running a p28 normally and when I went to inspection I plugged in the p72 the day before and drove around on it. I thought that would clear the codes, but i guess not? How do you clear the codes if unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a couple days doesnt work? Thanks
