p-28 with obd0 to obd1 jumper
stock ignition and fuel system.

Not to jack your thread but I'm having the exact same issue here.
D16y8(OBD2b) swap into 97 LX sedan using LX(OBD2a) harness. EVERYTHING is hooked up and working EXCEPT for the engine light. It does not come on at all.
-everything is plugged in
-starter works and cranks over
-checked the cluster with new bulbs and another cluster
-checked all the power/ground connection
-checked all the fuses
-I tried with two different ECU's:: the original ECU and P28 with conversion harness.
-I get no fuel:: because the engine light doesn't come on, the fuel pump doesn't prime.
It's almost as if I didn't plug in the ECU and/or pulled the ECU fuse out. I'm running out of ideas.
anybody else?

fixed the problem... This time, I sanded/cleaned all the surfaces for ground in the engine bay including the main harness ground.
I hope this helps.
