Check engine light...but light won't blink?
Car has a check engine light, but when you short the service connector it still lit but won't blink? Anyone have this problem before? OBD2b 2000 integra GSR...
The checklight will go off when you reset the ECU...but will come on shortly after and won't blink when you check the codes...(thought the SCS connector might of been shorted or something but it resets)
Thinking the ecu's bad or something...but never encountered a problem with check engine light not blinking to diagnois
any idea's?

but it's on when it's not connected...but doesn't blink when it is connected...know what I mean? I know what your saying, but it should go off when it's not connected, and it does reset when you reset it, so the light isn't stuck on!
What if your SCS connector isn't hooked up right? Or maybe you're sticking the paperclip in wrong so it's not really shorted??
Try this:
1) Reset the ECU, turn on the ignition but don't start or run it long enough for the CEL to come on. Jumper the SCS connector, see if the light comes on or not. (It should come on solid with no flashing.)
2) Unplug your O2 sensor or MAP or something. Start & run the engine until the CEL comes on. That should generate an error code GUARANTEED.
If there's an open-circuit on the SCS connector, it will NOT light up for #1, & it will stay on without blinking for #2.
If test #2 blinks the proper code for whatever you unplugged, then I'm still kinda confused...
ps... Since it's OBD-2 what about visiting AutoZone to read it with an OBD-2 reader?

1. good idea...tried this and it came on etc... but still won't blink when code is detected..
2. did this also... pcm came up so I'm figuring the ECU is jacked
thanks for the help
