Check Engine Light On ????
well yesterday i took my cat out becuase i was told that it had been clogged up the guys at the muffler place suggested that i replace it with a high flow resignator seeing how my system didn't have one. But last night my Check endine light came on what can i do?? do i need a high-flow cat or is there a way around it?
its caused by the secondary O2 sensor... its there to read the difference of the exhaust after it passes through the Cat. It should be very lean, close to outside air... so you can either get an OBD1 computer and adapter harness, or just hang the O2 sensor up in the chassis somewhere out of the way and out of the rain, mud, dirt, etc.

what code are you throwing??
what code are you throwing??
exactly my point, but what its looking for is a change at the converter, so if it doesnt see it, it will throw a code 19... defective converter code!
Where is your second O2 installed since theres no longer a converter?
It needs to be in clean or outside air to trick in into thinking the converter is doing its job.

well they tap and dyed it back into my exhaust there for its reading bad air i would guess!!!! how would i rest that light and where should i put it( in the car ) so it can read clean air!?!

theres your problem!
Man they are a bunch of morons! they should have know about this if they're a real muffler shop.
You need to plug that hole, and move the sensor to clean air somewhere... you can hang it under the car with zip ties, just remember it will get a little warm since its heated. Some people run an extension and put it under the hood somewhere so that its out of the contamination. They also make O2 simulators that you can plug into the connector that will fool the computer.
You can disconnect the battery for a few seconds to clear the code, or remove power to the ECU either by unplugging it, or pulling the ECU fuse which is in different places on different cars. Not sure about yours.
