Autozone will check it for free and tell you what the code is.

actually, i dont think autozone can do it anymore.... you'll have to check it yourself and then look it up. got repair manual?

You probably need to bring it into the dealer to have them check it out.. There is a place where you can reset the light off but without the dealer doing the right code or whatevers.. it will just come back on in a few days.. atleast this is what i have been told by a few people....

If you don't know and don't have a friend who does, then chances are that you will need to pay somebody to check it for you. To pull the code, there is a two pin blue connector on the right side of your car, underneath the glovebox. Turn the key on and jump the connector. Your check engine light will flash; long flashes = tens, short flashes = ones.

I checked and I got code #90 (Accord Civic CRV CRX Del Sol Odyssey Prelude 97-98 96-98 n/a n/a n/a 98 97-98 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area) So, I unplugged the battery and the check engine light went away for about 2 days. It has now come back on. What does this mean? Thanks for your help.

If your gas cap is tight, it means you probably have a leak in the evap. system. These are not fun to troubleshoot, so you may want to enlist some professional help.

Your problem may be covered under your Acura emissions warranty.

I work at a Honda dealership and almost everytime we get an evap leak code, it is either the evap canister or the bypass solenoid. I don't know if this would apply to a teg. ?

go to any mechanic and ask them to scan your car because your check engine light is on. all they do is hook a scanner to your car and it spits out a code(s). and tells you what your problem is. there may be more than 1 code but you fix the first one that pops up. because it could be related to the second problem and so on. the problem could be as simple as a loose vacuum hose. hope that helps
