Check engine
The past two days I have noticed that v-tec was not always engaging properly in my D16. First gear v-tec would come in late or it would come in turn off and then come back on again. Finally today the check engine light came on. I turned the car off and back on again and the check engine did not come back on. Possibly V-tec solonoid?? Any ideas of what is happening?
That is a good possibility. The oil is down mor than usual. I was actually going to change the oil in the next day or two, but I will do it tonight now. I didn't even think to check the oil sense I just checked it recently. I guess I am burning more than usual. Dang Auto X's.
ive heard that if u tap the ecu lightly with a hammer, it can fix a check engine light and u could put some oil into ur gasoline to check for knowcking to make sure its not thet knocking setting it off!

The code should still be stored in the ECU, go ahead and try to jump the service connector and see what code she throws. if it is the solenoid here is my vtec troubleshooting guide, if you have any questions let me know
