Check engine light
I know that if you are low on oil and engage the v-tech the check engine light will come on. It won't go away until you reset the ECU. How do you do that. I don't want to take the car back to the dealer to reset it because its too much of a hassle. Any tips??
If the light keeps coming on, your car is trying to tell you something. Reseting the ECU everytime isn't going to solve your problem. You might as well take it in to the dealer or to some reputable mechanic in your area.
well, here's how to reset the ECU anyways... http://integra.vtec.net/tips/ECU.html
It happened a few times and the oil has been low. Too low for the v-tech to engage. One you top up the oil the vtech then works but the check engine light remains lit until you reset the ecu. At least thats what the dealership said. Only happened twice so far. Pretty much always check the oil when I fill up now...
check your oil!
it might be low..
if it is..
it might be good to drain your oil and look for bearning flakes...
and change your filter and oil
that happened to me.. and I spun a bearing

First why are you running with your oil that low, second if you know your loosing oil then get it fixed, since you know the light is comming on when you hit vtec then you basically answered and solved your problem....fix the leak then reset the ECU then your in buisness....good luck
