Cheap Engine mods
Whats the cheapist engine mods to a 88 Crx that you could do yourself. I'm also thinking of a Cam change, who makes Cams for the CRX. Would a Turbo be too much for a engine thats done 110000+ miles?
Thanks,
Stevie.

Get a '90-'91 CR-X/Civic Si cam and ECU. Those are cheap and work better than the '88 CR-X Si parts.
Mill the head 0.040". That is cheap and works pretty well. While you are at it throw on a cam gear and dyno it.
Take out the rear interior, spare tire and jack, and any other things you consider useless. That is a free mod that works quite well.
Make sure all maintenance items are taken care of (cap, rotor, plug wires [get Honda wires], plugs, fuel filter, etc.). Sometimes that can make a nice difference.
Good luck.

Cheap, Reliable, Fast
Choose 2, only 2
Now that was awesome advice Kamin. if you are looking for cheap and fast than you can forget about reliable. At 110,000 miles anything can happen. The things people mentioned like shaving the head or changing ecu's are going to be expensive. I would suggest just maintaining your car and keeping it running smooth.

do your research and get a first gen b16 swapped in that baby(lower miles, thus more turbo friendly down the line). about $1200 for complete engine tranny ecu and another $500 for mounts and misc parts. that IS CHEAP by the way.., just price a complete turbo along with the cost of building a motor and youll be glad to fork over $1700 and do the swap yourself!
