Default Charging/Alternator

I have a LS/Vtec in a 91 CRX Si. I got the car out of the body shop the other day and the battery was dead. Charged it up and started her up. I looked up at my volt meter and noticed my alternator wasnt charging. I ran some tests and so on. I replaced the alternator today with another one. Both of these alternators we in good working order in my cars before. Now, the freshly installed alternator was charging a good 14. Drove around for a lil bit and noticed it stopped charging. All of my grounds have been checked. I hooked up a volt meter to the alternator while the motor was running and got a reading of 11.4. Another test I did was unpluged the green plug that goes in the alternator and with the ignition ON (motor not running) I checked the BLK/YLW wire. Reading was 11.4.

Any ideas? Im running 2 grounds. Transmission and valve cover. My thermostat ground is on also.

What would kill one alternator then cuz another one crap out within an hour?
Sounds like a connection. I have checked my battery connections (Im running a PC680).

I hate electric problems.

Thanks
Matt
