Default Changing Valve Seals

I was just wondering if it is difficult to change valve seals? Also, is it expensive to have done if i were to bring it to a shop?

Just have a shop do it, the money you save wont be worth having to have it done twice if you dont do it correctly

Good technical advice!
Hell, answering "take it to a shop" could pretty much answer everyone's questions, all the time -- I think you're on to something!

With that said, in order to change your valve stem seals you will need to remove your valve cover, cam(this means dealing with your timing belt), rockers, and valve springs. To keep your valves from falling into your cylinders you should have a source of compressed air to pressurize the cylinders. You could also try the "rope trick" where you feed rope into a cylinder and then turn the crank until it holds the valves up, but there is some debate as to whether or not this could harm your engine.
If you have a good manual, some time and if you are fairly mechanically inclined you shouldn't have much trouble.

it's better to remove the head and get it resurfaced, check valve guides, etc...IMO
