Default Changing from Conventional to Synthetic oil

I'm currently using conventional oil and plan on switching to synthetic. Is draining the old oil and changing the filter enough? should i use a synthetic blend first? does it even matter?

Just go ahead and drain your oil. Let it set for a while so all the oil drains - it makes it go faster if you remove your oil cap and have engine warm. No other precautions to look out for. Tell us how it works out! If you havent picked out an oil, I would recommend Mobile 1 synthetic oil & filter... Good luck!

Thanks for the verification, now i can proceed as planned. I was just hoping there wasn't anything more to it that that. And due to a surprising number of recommendations, i did go with the Mobil 1 synthetic. is there a reason for the Mobil 1 being so popular or is it just brand loyalty?

Mobile 1 has great protection, and they make an almost perfect synthetic oil. No one can top em'.
