Default Change transmission fluid now or wait?

I just noticed from my records that I have 36K miles on my current fill of GM Synchromesh Friction Modified tranny fluid. My buddy at the Chevy dealer gets me the stuff at his cost, but he's moving away soon. Most likely I'll be changing my clutch this summer, so I'm just wondering if I should drain and refill with fresh Synchromesh now, and then fill it again when I change my clutch? Or could I go another 10K or so on my current fill and just wait to put in fresh after I change my clutch?

I might just go ahead and buy 5-6 quarts from him now instead of just 3 so I'll have some later.
