CEL for IAT....
I have a 97 GSR that i jumped to OBD1, I'm running a phearable.net P28 on a 2000 B16B motor and tranny.
I'm using a 00-01 OBD2B engine harness. So, correct me if i wrong but where the IAT sensor is usually located on the manifold behind the fuel rail is actually the EVAP sensor and i have to relocate the IAT sensor to the intake tubing. (which i already did.)
Im still coding for the IAT sensor even after adding it to the intake tube. Am i doing something wrong or backwards.?
This is a JDM CTR motor so i have no EVAP purge control solenoid valve.
Im confused.

I had a similar problem and I figured there was just a hiccup somewhere. I pulled the negative terminal off the battery for a few min to clear the code. It never came back.
Are you certain you have the correct plug plugged into the iat sensor ? I had the same issue a few days ago there are like three or four plugs that will fit that sensor . All two wire so check your plugs and make sure they are correct mine did the same thing. I got a check engine light a few seconds after start up although mine was the iac you may possibly have the same issue but with your iat sensor ! And if I am looking at this correctly the one picture of the iat sensor in the original spot on the manifold shows a Grey two wire connector plugged into the iat sensor .Then on the new spot in the other pic you have a black two wire connector plugged in to the iat sensor .

Dude I am having the same problem with my type r motor. You might want to take it out and see if its burned because when I took mines out it was fried!!!!Seems like the IAT sensor doesn't react well to obd-1 electro and has too much voltage running into it. I don't think the IAT sensor get burned up by the intake manifold, Its not even hot in there. IDK

When I get another IAT sensor I will try and put it on the intake tube and see wasup.

According to your pics, you have two iat sensors plugged in.
You need to only have one iat sensor wired...
Do a continuity test from the IAT plug on the intake manifold to the ecu.
Make sure you have the correct plug plugged into the IAT sensor.
Then, test the IAT sensor by checking the resistance on it per the HELMS manual's specs.

looks like u plugged in the EVAP plug into the IAT sensor on the intake pipe. most likely u burnt out the purge circuit in the ECU and also melted the IAT sensor. unplug the purge plug and just plug in the IAT sensor plug to a good IAT sensor (remove yours and check to see if its burnt/melted)
The one you have in the intake manifold is the right plug (gren wire and red/white or red/yellow stripe; i forgot exact color)
