Default Cel 13, replaced Map sensor now what???

heya, swapped my motor back to stock, had a few cel's but tried to fix most. Car hasn't been driven for a little bit, but when I took it for a ride(no cel codes) it stuttered really bad, to the point of where I had to pull over. cel light comes on, bam car runs fine( i assume into limp mode). I check the code, it's map sensor. I replace it, and then it throws the SAME code. what could be up? anything that could cause this? My buddy said to swap the tps and map, but the wires won't even reach. anything else? any help would be sweet

What code is it exactly? I believe there are several concerning the MAP sensor.

You friend suggested that you swap the TPS and the MAP because the plugs are usually the same and they fit in both. However, the car will only run correctly if they are in the correct one. If they don't even reach, then chances are you have it correctly plugged in.

13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor . Thats what it says. and again I tried a new map sensor and that didn't work, so I can exclude that it's a bad map sensor. What do you guys think?

The Baro sensor is inside the ECU. Good luck with it's replacement. If it really needs to be replaced, you have to replace the ECU. So in reality, it was never throwing a MAP sensor code - it's always been Code 13?

Do you have a VAFC in there? Were you running The Hack or something? Forget to put the settings back to 0? This code is common with that setup and since you said you went back to stock, maybe you were turbo...just a guess though.

nope never turbo. had a different motor and different ecu. bnought a motor and bought the ecu, so im just assuming the ecu is bad. what a bummer. code has never been throw cept the last few days, but it's been stuttering and stuff for awhile, so i assume thats been the problem. it always had check engine codes before that so i assume it didn't throw that one. i had some o2 sensor problems, fixed those now this

What ECU? Isn't that BARO sensor replaceable for some years/models?

yea, i tried everything. I replace map sensor, i made sure there was correct voltage, i got 2.8v-2.9v and I don't know whate lse to try other then get a new ecu with a new baro sensor in it. could a hose line cause the map sensor to throw this code cus of too little or too much air?

If you look at the flowchart for this code, it's quite simple. Reset the ECU. Turn the ignition 'on'. Does the code come on before you ever start the car? No, then try this:

Reset the ECU again.
Start the engine and hold it at 3000rpm until the radiator fan kicks on.
Short the service connector (like you were checking codes).
Test drive in 4th gear.
Accelerate for 5 secs using WOT.

Code come back on? Yes - replace the ECU. No - intermittent problem.

Straight outta the Helms. They list this stuff for P1106, 1107, 1108 which all cross-reference to Code 13.

If it never threw code 3, then don't keep worrying about the MAP sensor.

hey how are you suppose to know if its 3 or 13???i checked it out and when i turn the ignition on...does that first light on the ABS count or do i have to wait for it to blink once then after that i start counting??I searched and found that if the ABS light is always on, then the ABS will blink instead of the Enginge Light??is that right? when i turned my ignition on its stays for a bit then its blinks 3 quick ones right after that!?so do i say the first one is a 10 then 1, 1, 1...or just 1, 1, 1???help me out too???thanks a lot and sorry if i posted thison your forum since its the same issue with me!!thank you!
