was this ever resolved?
I too am having problems. Idles at 10 psi, maybe 50 psi at redline(h23/vtec, 6700rpm).
I swapped out the oil pump, it gained some pressure from where I was at before.
There was a missing O-ring on the rear balance shaft, which leads me to believe that the motor was in multiple pieces, getting kicked around on the floor for a year. Who KNOWS what the bearing clearances are....
My Vtec now engages though, as soon as there is 25psi on the pressure guage, Vtec engages(roughly 4300rpm). Speedpro management, with a 3k RPM pill in the RPM switch(controls Vtec).

 

I would say bearing clearance because if the oil pump was out I dont think it would hold pressure at all

nope.

i think im just going to build a whole new bottom end over winter...... instead of buying the g35 6mt that i wanted to get

Have u at least taken the oil pump off and checked clearances to see if its out of spec?

 

haven't touched it. i was trying to part it out but that didn't go through either... and, im broke, and im wokring on picking up a hatvh for a daily driver, so its going to sit till i get time.money to do somehing to it- and thats going to be winter.
