there is a thud noise on front passenger side. when i looked under the car...there is all kinds of grease all over the axle area. the noise started only when i was turning and now when i'm going straight...there are no shakes or anything...when i brake the noise is gone...the sound doesn't get loud or anything...it sounds about the same all the time...it's been about two weeks and i am going to change the axle.
my question is: is it the axle thats broken or is it something else.

i never changed an axle before so i would like to know if when you remove the axle...will tranny fluid leak out...friends told me that only a little bit will come out...
