Car shakes when accelerating!! HELP!!!
Just bought a 92 Integra and its in great condition, except for the fact that when I Accelerate in whatever gear (quarter-Full throttle) the car starts to vibrate and shake. Once i left off the gas it stops I checked the wheels and the balance and those are fine. I had a feeling it could be the motor mounts but im not sure. someone also told me it could be the axles. Can anyone clarify this for me, I searchd archives and didnt really come up with much. Wheres the first place I should look, how can i tell if the motor mounts are bad? any help is greatly appreciated... thanks
Usually the oem axles have balance weights, but aftermarkets dont because they come balanced already, but ive had to swap mine out twice because it would shake on acceleration. I think its due because ur axles wiggle in motion. I would suggest just rebuilding your old ones unless they are aftermarket as well.

Mine did that when the diff bearings were wasted. Check for oil leaks around seals in tranny when working the axels. Might even be worth loosening the drain plug in tranny and dripping out a little oil to check colour. If it's silvery or black I'd head for a reputable tranny shop for a look. Wheel bearings can also have similar syptoms.
This it to add to the above posts - not to contradict. Axels, first then the stuff above if they're ok. I'd check tranny oil anyway though.

Had the same with one new axle, no balance weight. OEM, or Raxles. Most inexpensive axles do not have the weights. Other side has an aftermarket axle that is fine, without weight. Some places let you bring them back, but that R and R until right.
well i replaced my axles, lower ball joints, and tie rods, and also rebalnced the wheels, but for some reason, the car still shakes, its not as violent as it was before, but I still feel the vibrating in 2nd and 3rd gear between 2000 and 4000 RPM. i did some research and found out it could be the half shaft or a bent subframe. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
When my flywheel was warped my car would shake like an earthquake wipers comin on felt like wheel hop but after my flywheel was replaced no problem only happened under slight accel or heavy in first also had this problem with a bmw the wheels would vibrate in every gear on the lift u can check this by puttin on the e brake and have some one look at ur car while u try to move forward
