Car running cold?
I noticed that my car has been running cold lately. It's a 2000 Type R. The needle on the temp gauge dip back into the cold zone when ever I press on the gas. While in idle, the temp is find. But once I get moving, the needle just drops back to C. I dont think there's anything wrong with the temp. sensor, cause the lower rad hose was actually cool. I think it might be the thermostat. Could it be stuck open? But the car only has 76,000 kms on it , so I don't think it should go bad this soon. Anyone have this similar problem before? Can someone help me out?
Thanks.
Thanks.
well I talked to the dealer today. They said that the thermo is only warranteed for 3 years/36,000 kms. My car is now 4 years old so it's not covered. But does thermos got bad this soon? The guy from the dealer told me that it might be something else cause thermos don't usually go bad this soon. He said that they usually last for like a 100,000 kms or more b4 going bad. Well I just think that they want to make some money for the work.
So does thermos ever go bad so soon? maybe I got a defective one? Why else would Honda only warrantee it for 3 years?

the dealership will always try to sucker u into more labor time
a termostat can go bad just like other parts sooner then later
I have seen a timing belt go bad after 50,000 miles
and others have lasted over 200,000 miles!!!
so u know I would
if u can get the manual and a six pack of beer
DO IT URSELF
easiest thing next to doing ur oil change
right guys

I know this may sound wierd but check your grounds. I was having a similar issue except my car would run normal temp while at idle but under load it would read hot. I found out my tranny ground bolt was stripped because of a crappy shop (Thanks DragTec). After I fixed it everything was fine.
Just something to check.
Just something to check.

Yeah I know it's an easy fix, but I just wanted to see if anyone else have had a similar problem as me and to see if there was a possibility that something else can be wrong before I go start taking stuff apart and order a new thermostat.
But yeah, I'll check the ground tomorrow. Thanks
