i really just need help on how to test the starter or ignition system.
we just fixed the fuel system, an injector was leaking we replaced the O rings.

now it won't start
how do i know if its the starter?
how do i know if its the ignition spark?

any helps

engine doesn't turn over.
starter clicks once

 

remove the small single wire going to the starter. get a 2 foot wire stirp both ends and conect one end to the starter where you removed the wire and the other to the + on the battiery

 

Yeah that happend to me a while ago, I turn the ignition key and the engine rotates but doesn't start at all. It confused me for weeks until one day I found out that it was my TDC timing, it was all off! So I resetted the IGNITION and CRANKSHAFT timing to TDC and voila it worked!!!

 

its not even rotating......the only thing that happens is the fuel pump turns on then u hear a real slight clicking from the starter

 

Hmmm.....that happend to me also. It was the negative battey bolt that holds down the terminal, it was loose so every time I cranked my engine all I heard was this snappy noise and engine wouldn't start, so I just got a new Honda OEM ground bolt from the dealership and thought that it'll solve the problem, but strangly it didn't bolt in becuase the hole was so damn spreaded and loos that it didn't fit in properly anymore(hehe), so I had to used this other hole next to it(hehehehe) which fitted perfectly(hehehehehehahah!).

 

damn i wish it was that easy but i just got a new ground wire and hold.......and i checked it yesterday.......its fine

 

Hmmm.......is the battery fully charged? I'm geussing that is right? You check the alternator??? I had a bad alternator that also prevented the engine from starting and it also sucked up most of the battries juice.

 

i will have to check that but im pretty sure thats not the problem...because the lights and **** can all work but the engine doesnt even turn..

 

check the alternator...check the battery terminals, the wire hooked up to the starter from the battery.
