ok, it's not my car..but a buddy of mine is having problems with his car. He turns the key and tries to start the car, but nothing happens. No action, doesn't even struggle or anything. Just wondering what could be the problem...any kind of help would be greatly appreciated..oh yea..but his lights turn on and everything, it's just when he turns the key nothing happens.

 

if you can hear the fuel pump turn on then you should have enoungh power to at least crank the engine. check to see if the starter is connected right. check all your grounds. i had a simular problem. my car would not start because a ground was loose. another dumb mistake i made was that we put the map sensor where the tps was and vice versa. the car would try to turn but no start. make sure your pluged in all the right places.

Well, you might want to start with the simple things first. Test volate coming out of the battery. Then it's time to move onto the more expensive things such as the starter, fuel pump, etc.
