Car jerks on acceleration/deceleration
I have an 89 hatchback, standard with 130/000 miles.. my car just started to jerk when i give it gas and when i let off the gas.. it doesnt jerk if i hold my foot down on the pedal and continue to accelerate, only initialy, its not a crazy violent jerk but its definately not healthy.. what could this be? It does seem to only happen after about 1800- 2000 rmm and higher, could it be play in the driveshaft or axles? CONFUSED AND A LITTLE WORRIED!! please help, thanks
I have a friend with a 90 EF sedan.. When he bought the car it was jerking a lot. However it would jerk no matter what.. even when he got on the gas.
I believe his problem was a build up of junk in the gas tank. He drained the tank and cleaned it, and replaced the fuel filter a couple times.
A simple tune up might be very beneficial if you haven't already done that.
