Car doesn't idle.......
Started slightly yesterday, but got really bad today. Every stop light now, my car almost instantly dies. Also, it felt like it started hesitating at lower RPM's anything over 1/4 throttle.... and it was making the excess-fuel popping noise in the exhaust. Some things I've been told it might be....
- Bent valves... I am running CTR cams on stock valvetrain
- Bad distributor... could account for the hesitation
- Secondary 02 Senser CEL... running high-flow cat - #Cataylist Exhaust Flow Error
any other ideas? I'm half tempted to go buy a skunk2 valvetrain since I'm going to need it anyway....
in my time reading posts on ht ive found that this is really a huge problem amongst the community... i share a similar problem... however i have heard that it could have something to do with a vaccume hose and of course timing but my timing is perfect (reccomend you check those first).. ive got a brand new dist. whenever my car is cold this problem persists, but when it warms up it seems to run fine... a friend of mine had this problem also... and replaced the injectors and it ran like a champ, bad injectors will really slow your car down too with experience from my old crx... and my car has been having trouble starting lately, even had to compression start her the other day.... im replacing/cleaning my injectors this coming weekend and will tell you how it worked out... hell if that dosn't work looks like im tearing apart the head and peepin' the valvetrain
Check the tension in the timing belt. A loose belt retards cam timing. I put bigger cams in my lude it stalled every time I was I nuetral for more than a sec. You might just need to turn your idle up. I turned mine up and it ran really well. Mike
