Car cuts off!! please help
My car runs fine until it warms up, then it shuts off. Before this problem started I would be driving down the road and the rpm needle would occasionally drop for a second and go back. Now when driving the rpm needle drops and the speedo decelerates, but the car stays on for a few seconds until it dies. It won't start back up until hours later. The problem seems to be electrical, but i'm not sure. Anyone have an idea of what the problem is? All help is greatly appreciated.
from my experience u could have 1 of 4 things
1. faulty fuel pump
2. clogged fuel filter
3.or just a clogged air filter
4.all the above.
just check the voltage on ur pump and make sure its within specs. and if thats not it check the rest.

You need to find out if it is a fuel problem or an ign. problem.
The first test is a simple one, when car stalls, turn ign. off for a few seconds, then turn it on to run, do not try and start the car, listen carefully, you should hear a "click", [it's actually 2 clicks very close together] at the same time your CEL will turn on and you should be able to hear the fuel pump "prime" the fuel system, it will run for no more then a few sec. then another "click" and the CEL goes out.
If the above does not happen then you have either a fuel pump problem, a PGM-FI Main Relay problem, an ECU/ECM problem or a wiring problem, my guess would be the PGM-FI Main Relay, it is definitely the first thing I would check.
If on the other hand all the above does happen but engine will not start when you turn key to start, you will need to test for spark, unplug a spark plug lead and plug in a known working plug lay it on the engine, [ground point] and have someone try and start the car, is there spark?
If not, I would test for 12V at the distributor assembly, [black/yellow] if good you will need to pull and test the coil and ICM, also check connections to the coil and ICM.
Testing the above will obviously have to be done when engine will not start, or install known working coil then ICM. 94
