Car backfiring through the intake???
I was just talking to my friend and he dropped in an accord ex motor in his 93 accord last week... he says that its backfiring through the intake. He thinks the timing is backwards or something... He said that he, "thinks the intake valves are kicking in before the exhaust valves so its trying to kick out the intake".
he put a new distributor in and ur supposed to turn the little rotor inside the cap to the number one cylinder and he thinks it may have been at number 4... maybe the timing sequence is off.
Can some please help us out???
Thanks a lot

did he by any chance change his timing belt before the sway?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yes he did change the timing belt... Im guessing this is the problem?? Just need to adjust it? Thanks a lot

i read somewhere before that back fire through the exhaust is cause by rich mixture while through the intake is lean but i forgot if these parameters only applies to acceleration or decelaration. i'm quite sure though that backfire through the exhaust during decceleration is caused by a rich mixture.
