Have you tried an adjustable cam gear?

no money for a cam gear, the cam timing is suppose to be off by about 2.5 degrees + or - so that's not really a big deal rite? cam gears are adjustable to like +-10 degrees and would that really jack up your ignition timing? or is it something else wrong with my car thats making the timing way off.

Your ignition timing is off because your cam timing is off. If you are not off by one full tooth on the cam timing, you need an adjustable cam gear to dial in your cam timing. SI cam timing is set at the mark on the rear cover at about 7 o'clock or so, as opposed to 1.5l cam timing which is set level with the head.If you are not sure how to set your cam timing, get a Helms.

Each degree of cam rotation is equal to 2 degrees of crank, so it will be off double what your cam timing is.

don't know the answer to your question but maybe you can answer mine. How in the heck did you get the Crankshaft pulley bolt off? I have been struggling with mine for two days. Please help if you can.

A huge impact gun. If that doesn't work you might have to torch the bolt then back it out with the impact gun. I had that problem with a friend's motor once. I had to torch the bolt.

I heated it last night with a torch, and hit it with a cheapy Impact. It didn't work. Your right though I need to get a bigger Gun! I will try it . Thanks

If that doesn't work there is a special tool you can buy that slips into the crankshaft that holds it in place. Then you use a huge *** breaker bar to untighten that bolt. Good Luck.

your cam timing should only be off by a tooth. actually about 1/2 tooth, but since you don't have an adjustable gear that isn't possible. Anyways, your cam timing is too far out of spec, so adjust that and your ignition timing should line up as well.
