Default can you chip a P73 ecu

is this ecu worth getting?? can you chip it. i have a 98 integra. with a b20. about throw my vtec head on. dont know if i should convert to obd1 or just run the P73 ecu. i need to know so i can buy my distributor and vtec solenoid. but i can get obd2 stuff and then just use the jumper harness to run obd1 right. well let me know which way i should go. thanx

IMO, no.
If you want to pay madd loot outcha butthole you could get it done by a couple places. Erick's Racing use to be able to reprogram OBD2 ecu's, he use to be in cahoots with G-force who use to be able to chip OBD2 ecu's. G-force went outta business a few years ago. Or you can send it overseas to a tuner in Japan....but its really not worth it. You're better off converting to OBD1 via jumper harness & OBD1 ecu.

If you go OBD1, your in good hands, OBD1 ecu's are compatible with OBD2 sensors, distributors, injectors, etc. Honda made OBD1/2 electronics backwards & foward compatible.

So, you can leave your engine completely OBD2 spec and just run a jumper & OBD1 ecu and all will run fine.

ok sweet thanx for answering my question. but im getting the ecu for $50. should i still get it for this cheap. im not gonna try to chip it cuz i just picked up another obd1 ecu that im gonna use. but a type r ecu for $50 in working condition, might be able to trade for a few things i need or sell for more than $50 right.
