MY CAR IS RUNNING BAD! LOL
SOUNDS LIKE EXHAUST IS NOT GOING THROUG MUFFLER AND ESCAPING THROUGH CAT. CONV... CNA THIS HAPPEN? WILL IT ALSO THROW OFF MY VTEC? VTEC KICKS IN REALLY LOW........ ITS REALLY SLUGGISH, CAN THE INSIDES OF MY CAT BE MELTED?
SPARK PLUG ONE WAS MISFIRING COULD IT HAVE MESSED UP ANYTHING?
HELP ME SO I CAN DRIVE MY CAR!

its a 2000 civic ex with 44k on it, vtec 1.6l sohc
had it diagnosed and:
multiple cylinder misfires and bad o2 sensor!
what can cause multiple cylinder misfires?
just replaced plugs too and they are properly gapped

Could have been that damn failed English as a Second Language class...

Well lets do some troubleshooting... Try pulling the cat off. Remove the whopping 4 bolts and check inside. Chances are you wont be able to see light through the other end. Start the car while you are at it. Besides being ungodly loud, is it running any better?

I'd say the 02 is a secondary code. First thing you need to do is check the igntition system. Replace the cap, and rotor using a HONDA replacement!!!! Then replace the wires. The misfire can cause the o2 error. Did this just happen? What did you touch in between it working fine and breaking?

You may have killed the o2s if you have ran it while this problem is occuring.

sorry about writing in caps but like its not getting any power, i replaced the plugs, wires, and intake, its so sluggish compared to what it was before can the o2 sensor cause it to be slugish?

 

how long did u drive wit this misfire? cuz all the fuel that wasnt ignited goes through the cat and it will damage the internals of the cat.

 

CHECK THE CAT FIRST !!!! if the convertor is clogged or burned up from you driving it when it was sluggish you probably killed the inside of the cat. take our advice and check this first

 

i prolly drove it with it being sluggish for like 3-4 days, just replaced the cap and rotor...not it lol, getting frustrated

 

hey guysm while we are on the subject, if you remove the cat will you have to replace the gaskets that holt it to the headers and the rest of the exhaust piping? Thanks and good looking out,ed.
