can i use ls ecu w/ vtec controller with my ls/vtec?
i have a 91 integra with a b16 1st gen and it blew so now i'm upgrading to an ls/vtec.. i was wonder if i could still use my ls ecu (since the shop had to repin a few wires) and use my apexi vafc to activate vtec? i dont wanna use the b16a ecu because my knock senor broke and a new 1 cost 150 from the dealer.. tia
You can use the B16 ECU and ground the knock sensor wire. I would imagine you can also use the VAFC with out any problems with the exception of a rev limit of 6800 RPM where B16 will goto 8200. B16 will also block V-tec if engine isn't at normal operational temp.
you can but its not worth it omg my friend used a ls ecu with a fields vtec controller on his car for like half a year and the best he did was 15 secs then he dump that and got a b16 ecu and was doing low 14s. just buy the b16 ecu or at least have your ls ecu chip and use the vafc.
