Default Can I fix it?

I have a 1991 civic LX with the stock D15B2. I suspect my headgasket is leaking and is about to blow since I am overheating badly. I also need a new water pump. Other than that, the car runs fine. Basically, what I need to know is if it is worth my time fixing the problems, or should I just get a "used" engine and start over. The rest of the car is in excellent shape. If you suggest a used one, how much do you think the installation would be? Where may I find one online? I am a single mom (see avatar) and $$ is tight. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

EDIT: I know the waterpump is the cause of the overheating since I just replaced the radiator/t-stat last week and the car is leaking badly from the drivers side near the timing belt area.

EDIT 2: Does anyone in NOVA want to help me fix the car/swap the engine? I can pay cash....PM me to discuss....

Well, there are shops that have d series motors lying around, they'd probably give you one in great shape for no more than a hundred bucks or so. I'd definatly look into replacing it.

That is "plan B". First, I am trying to change the pump/belt. i found someone to do that for me for $50

if that doesn't work, it's swap time!
