Default camshaft seal

quick question...is a cam seal=cam seal=cam seal...meaning dosen't matter who makes it.

Also does getting a thermostat from a company like autozone, advance autoparts, ok compared to a oem honda one..

The thermostat I'd be more hesitant to buy aftermarket, because A) who knows how good it'll work/how long/if it'll be within the normal OEM specs? (but then again, it could be trouble-free also) B) an OEM one is only about $15 vs. an aftermarket might be only like $5 cheaper?
