Hi,

I have just replaced my d16a CRX motor with a low km ZC import including the following mods:

CAMS - Mild regrind (no specs) & no cam gears,
Replaced Baffled Muffler with Straight Through type,
Replaced K&N and stock intake with POD type (installed near battery),
Dyno Tuned to produce 92HP RWHP.

The problem is that the old motor produced 90 RWHP which was blowing copious amounts of smoke and running rough (done over 200,000Kms). The car is run at a local Race Track (not 1/4 mile) on tuning days and I have seen no improvement at all on top speed after replacing the motor (there is a tad more torque at lower rpms though).

It also appears that motor is running richer at the top end as I smell more fuel while driving at the track.

Something just doesn't seem right - I would expect atleast a 10% gain over the previous motor. Would the stock computer and having no cam gears be the problem here?

Any other thoughts or recommendations on where I can get this extra HP? Everything was installed and setup by a local performace shop.
