i was wonderin, i have a question... i know if i put on a aftermarket cam gear it wont do much, but if i put in a new camshaft will it help any??

an aftermarket cam will make power but im actually running my stock zc cam with a camgear and dropped .3 off my times.

 

You have 1 cam so it's singular.

If you upgrade to an aftermarket cam you will sacrifice power in different places to gain in others.

IMO Zex/Comp has one of the best SOHC cams out there.

 

what motor do you have??? Y8??

 

gude makes pretty good cams for SOHC, not the best for DOHC though
and you will still see a good gain for the money, not much though with the cam gear unless your doing alot more mods and then the tuning will help

 

Crower stage 1 or 2's are great for sohc vtec!

 

if your running turbo then the stock cam will be the best, on turbo you want the least amount of overlap you can get. gude,zex,webcams, all make good cams for your motor.
