Default Camber kit help...

I'm in need of a camber kit for my car (tire wear is bad). I've been reading up on some of the different ones and some of them look like just bolts and washers, that seems like a hodge podge repair to me. Others look very elaberate and are quite pricey. So if I want to do this right what kit should I look for? I'm not a cheap *** but I also don't want to buy anything that I don't need. Free for the most helpful answere. Thanks, Tim

NVMYSi,
Are you mostly interested in the front camber correction? I have used quite a few camber correction kits on past projects. I'm currently running Skunk2 adjustable A-arms. You live close to me, so if you like I can arrange some time for you to check them out if you like. I can also give you my input on the other options.
I'd also take into account what some others will say as well.

Sorry I didn't realize that was you talking to Terry after BTL2, otherwise I would have introduced myself.

Skunk2 up front, washers in the back.

Works great.

SLPR,
I will do some pricing on the Skunks for the front and read up on them, what about the rear, I would like as close to OEM camber as I can get on this lowered car. Thanks for the input. I will IM or PM you sometime about meeting up.

Yes that was me talkin to Terry, he is working on my next bolt on part , hopefully it will be ready soon. I was parked next to your hatch with the 00 Si

NVMYSi,
Sorry i should have said hello but I was there all day helping and was pretty tired and needing some sleep before the drive to the Indy Truck Show.

How much did you lower your Si? I remember it beeing pretty low to the ground. How much negative camber are you experiencing in the front and rear exactly? The washer modification should be sufficent for the rear, no doubts there. The skunks are a good way to fix the front IMO. I'd rather use the skunks than any Ignalls kit anyday.

Terry is a great guy...as is the rest of the TCL crew. If you have Terry working on something for you it will definetly turn out great. Good luck with your project.

Hmmm I wonder why your front camber is so off comparing the right and left sides? It is a difference of 1.3 degrees. Are both front corners lowered the same amount?

I'm guessing you were experiencing some fast tire wear but it really isn't caused by your camber settings it is occuring mostly due to your toe settings. I have ran anywhere between 1.0 to 2.5 degrees of negative camber before and never experienced abnormal tire wear. But my toe setting were always within spec. I thing most of your problem is there--in the toe settings. It would be a piece of mind to even out the right front and left front camber though.

How are the rear tires wearing? Same as the front, not as much, more???

SLPR,
Do you know of ant local places that would offer a lifetime alignment package, that would be financialy better for these adjustments. Today I was measuring the front corners and yes you were correct I'm lower on one side. I recently had shock/strut install and a alignment by a local naperville perfomance shop, (not going to mention any names) and I'm not impressed with the work that they turned out.

I have a shop that does excellent work but I don't think they offer a lifetime alignment package. I really don't know of anyplace that offers something like that. I'd rather spend $40-50 everytime and know that the work is 110%

Archer alignment ran by a father and son. The son races track bikes and is very open to requests for exact alignment settings. If you knew me well, you would know that I do not let just anyone touch my Civic.........the guys at Archer are an exception. Front alignment around $46 and four wheel alignment is around $59.

The car wash you meet SpoonSigirl at......keep heading east on Lincoln HWY towards downtown. You will cross the tracks and imeadiatly see Lovell's Discount Tire on your right. Turn into their parking lot. Archer is located behind the Tire store.
