Default cam timing

So for the past few months my car has been bogging really badly at cold start. It also boggs after a few minutes on the highway or sitting there idle for a while until I turn it off and then back on and all is fixed. In additon, it also boggs when giving it gas from a stop until like 2.5k. After changing the essentials like fuel filter, ran fuel cleaner, changed the spark plugs, etc, I am stuck at cam timing.

The motor is a mini-me swap with a d16y7 block with a y8 head. Essentially, if this is the problem I am looking for someone to explain to me how I would check if it is on time and if not how to make it so. Thanks!
