Cam caps
I have a 98 gsr head and the exhaust cam cap closest to the timing belt wont sit even with the head. Is there any way i can tell if i have the original gsr cam caps? On the cam cap there is a hole to fit the oil passage way on the head (i think thats what it is) but it wont sit right because the hole on the cam cap is to small to fit there. Also i cant get any of the cam caps to sit all the way down with the head. Any help is appreciated.
You didn't say. These didn't come off of this engine? Don't know where you got them from or what engine they came off of? As I've read it cam caps are specific to the head so my guess is that you definitely have the wrong ones.
I bought this head from someone on craigslist long time ago. The guy who sold it to me told me it was a stock 98 gsr head. i later came to find out i had b16 cams and cam rails. And now im thinking i have b16 cam caps. i rebuilt thee head with all new supertech valvetrain and valve guides and got gsr cams. Now i am assembling the head and im stuck here.
