Default A/C question!

What does it mean when your A/C is cold for a certain amount of time then later just blows out warm air then blows out cold air again after awhile. What could be causing this problem?? I'm thinking its the condensor??? Help please

Two possible causes:

1)
Your receiver dryer is in an over saturated condition.
Moisture in the refrigeration system freezes in the TX valve, causing temporary blocking. (After a while the ice melts and the A/C works again until the moisture freezes again)

Remedy:
Replace your receiver dryer.
Remove the moisture from your system by repeated air evacuation.

2)
Symptoms:
As you described.
Frost formed on piping at front and rear sides of TX valve or receiver dryer.

Cause:
Your TX valve is blocked by dirt or moisture.

Remedy:
Allow to stand for some time and resume operation to decide whether the plugging is due to moisture or dirt.
(If moisture, see above)
If dirt, remove the TX valve and blow out the dirt with compressed air.
If that doesn't work, flush the system, replace TX valve and receiver dryer, evacuate the system.

Does it get wormer when you come to a stop, or does it happen while you are driving at a constant speed? I ask this because there is the posibility that there is not enough air passing to cool the radiator. I could be way off on this, but I noticed that when I am at a stand still my A/C sucks and when I get up to speed it gets cooler. I don't really know too much about A/C units, but this has been my experience....

It is when I am driving

You can feel the compressor clutch engaging and disengaging as you drive. Also, at when I am stopped you can hear it go on and off.

try checking the connection to your compressor clutch. In my crx the plug could be easily disconnected.

It happens when I drive at a constant speed and or at a complete stop.. It's blowing all cold and after awhile it just blows out air. And when i turn off the A/C abd turn it back on, I can feel the compresson engage but warm air still just blows out..

RYANSTEV: Where is the TX value located at?

The TX valve is between the condensor and evaporator, in the engine bay somewhere, not sure exactly where.
You'll have to find the high pressure side of the condensor and follow the tube to the TX valve.

Okay, the compressor is on but the A/C isn't cold.

This isn't the only possible cause but if the high side pressure is low and the low side pressure is low or pulling a vacuum, it's probably a bad expansion valve (it's bolted to the evaporator).

Oh yeah...Honda calls it an expansion valve. Others refer to it as a TX valve...
