Default C-12 vs. 100 octane

i had my car dynoed about a month ago and was running c-12 fuel. i always run c-12 fuel but today i wanted to take my car and race my friend, but the fuel shop that i get fuel from is closed today(sunday). i know of a gas station that sells 100 octane down the street. i was woundering if i ran 100 oct. would this harm my motor at all? would i loose a noticable amount of power? should i add octane boosterto the 100 oct? My setup isnt anything special, just a b18c1 complete motor with ctr's, s2s2's, 310's, and hondata. Thanks in advance!

y are you running race fuel anyway? you must have some "on the limits" tuning

isnt c-12 like 110+ octane?

if thats the case i wouldnt

btw a whole bottle of octane booster raises your octane not even a point

i didnt think you can run a b18c1 w/ ctr pistons on pump gas. my timing is advanced 20 degrees and i dont want to detonate. isnt my cr like 13:1? what do you mean on the limits tuning? nothing special. would i hurt the motor on 100 oct?

are u using the gsr crank or LS crank? If using the gsr u will be able to run on pump gas..if u want to run race gas u deff dont need c12...100 would be fine. AS far as the LS crank goes. Im pretty sure with stock (not milled head and HG) with ls crank and rods it puts it at 13ish:1. So i would run 100 on that.

im using a gsr crank. so running c12 is not needed. so could i be losing power with not enough compression and to high of octane? i tried 100 oct and didnt really notice a difference. also i noticed that when vtec hits it pulls alright, but as soon as i get to 7000rpms, thats when i can really feel it. is this normal ? anyone else seen this?

You not running a cat are you? That c12 will eat the cat and stock o2's. They dont like leaded fuel at all!

no cat here. i didnt know that c12 would mess up the o2 sensor. i think i'll run 100 oct from now on. anyone know why vtec is like that?

Well yeah, your cams dont start building power until then. S2s2 pull like a train between 6500-10000 rpms.

vtec is set at 6000. would it be better to raise it? lower it? is that normal to start pulling hard after 7000? when i had itr cams vtec wouldnt lag until 7000rpms. there wasnt as much power, but it didnt act up like this. why with these cams does it lag between 6000 and 7000?

it is tuned! before i got it tuned it was like i hit a brick wall when vtec hit. baseline had a hugh dip @vtec point. then it would climb back up slow but @7000rpms it would jump up nice. tuning evened it out not a lot just a lil bit. i can still notice it lagging. its def. not as bad but i think i would be able to make more power if it didnt lag so much until 7000rpms. any susgestions?? anyone??
