Default Bypassing knock sensor on a P72

I have a OBD-1 ECU that I am using and I am trying to figure out what is the best way to bypass the knock sensor. I was looking at my D clip on my ECU and I didnt see any wire for my knock sensor so I was thinking of putting in a wire and trying to ground it but im not sure it will work.

you could get it chipped..so it wont need the knock sensor

the shop that did my brother's LS/VTEC grounded out his knock-sensor,which in turn disabled his VTEC.....so his car was basically running like a stock LS.we went to another shop and they said that the problem was that the knock sensor was grounded out.after replacing it,the car runs just fine now......so I don't recommend it,buddy.

I suggest that you sell your P72 and you'll have enough for a chipped P28.

How does the knock sensor work?

Could you not just stick a resistor in to fool the ecu?

Disable it with a chipped ecu. Your car will run fine without it, whoever said that is a moron.

chipped P72 if you have an IAB equipped intake mani, chipped P28 otherwise.

Three easy options, #1, Chip a P28 for yourself, #2. tap the block and wire up the KS, #3. Find a proggy which you can chip it out of your P72 with... My choice would be to go with a P05/06/07/28 chipped to DOHC VTEC specs... I hate the stock P72 tho... As for a KS, it's a piezo electrice device which creates voltage as it is "stressed" (or vibrated in our case), the ECU interprets high levels of stress as a knock, ping, etc... There's no fooling the ECU with a resistor or even grounding a sensor and running the wire to your KS pinout... The stock KS does however not work with a damn for saving your motor against detonation... That's why I just say SOHC ECU Good Luck and I hope this helps
