buying a crx...engine issues
the problem with it is that its only running on 3cylinders.owner claims that he used too low octance therefore it went. my question is what will it take to get the motor running and pass emisions. swap is definitly an option in the future , but for the time being could i replace the head (ie vtec head?) or repair the damage itself (cost?)
just want to know what my options could be.
thanks!

It could be an issue so simple as replacing a spark plug. Or it could be much more serious. Until you actually get the car and can look into it with greater detail, then I can't help you further.

That's basically bullshit, because the factory recomments 86+ for the d16a6. So he's full of ****.

These engines are notorious for burning valves if left unadjusted and having the rings stick and/or break. Do a compression check and be prepared to put a whole new engine in.
