Bull sh*t wire tuck (need help)!
Hey what's up HT i purchased a car (96 ex ek coupe) that has a bull **** wire tuck. There is chopped up wires everywhere and i honestly don't know where to start. I got some help from a fellow member but i figured w/ pics i can get a more detailed answer. The battery is in the trunk and the fuse box is located under the dash. Also i have a cut off switch but I'd rather not let that location out all over the internet for obvious reasons. Basically i want this car running fine w/ out any electrical problems. Lmk if you need to see any other pics. Thanks!

First off whats the problem because in those pics all we can tell is how they decided to tuck it.I would say if the wires are a mess and cut up all over the place then the simplest way to fix it is to get some new harnesses from the yard or pull out those and have someone rewire them for you.
Basically i like the whole semi wire tuck thing but not if im going to run into problems. So i wanna know what i have to do so problems dont occur in the future.
just go ahead and burn the car so that it doesnt "occur in the future" haha
like anyone can tell what problems will occur in the future. if you are that worried about it like siblues said go get another harness and start over.

I have a ghetto wire tuck on my car. I bought it that way from previous owner.
The problem actually happened after I removed my splash guard and had my drag radials on. I was driving in the rain with my drag radials lol.
An then the wires tucked under my wheel wells on the driver side got loose and ripped out when they hit my tires. Pulling out my blinker light bulb on my jdm front end and ripping all the wiring to the driver side light and side marker.
Also the ballast tucked under under the sides don't work properly in the rain.
big problem with buying cars with previous owners work on them.

Ditto that^^^^
That has to be one of the worst tucks I have seen, as mentioned, pull it all and start again.
And use grommets, popping the door harness boot, [pix one] and running "tucked wiring" through hole so boot can not be reinstalled is an absolute no no, eventually the sharp metal edge will chafe off the insulation of the wiring and result in a short, it could be bad enough to burn your car to the ground.
The proper way would have been to drill another hole above or below the door harness one and install a grommet.
A new harness from the bone yard, using parts of the old harness to extend leads that need to be extended, same [color/tracer] is the way to go.
If you have a pick&pull in your area and get a new harness there, pull all the grommets you can off the car also, [all sizes and shapes]. 94

Thats why I wouldnt go near a car with a relocated fuse box/wire tuck. For every five people on this site that know what they're doing, there is a thousand more that have no idea, but most of them still try. Good luck with that, totally fixable and you might as well start from scratch otherwise thats gonna be a pain in the ***. If you wanted constant electrical issues you could have just bought a vw(j/k)...not really lol.
If you going to rewire those wire i suggest to take your time because you got shorten wire that can cause electrical problem, if not done right. I did a small electrical course in school and be told that electrical wiring isn't no joke.
