built d16y8 not starting
ok so i installed my built y8. I have fuel and i have spark, i have clocked the dizzy, making sure i didn't have it in backwards and still nothing, it just cranks but wont catch. i dont think this could be a stale gas issue, could it? its 91octane and it has been a year with no stabilizer?
or
on my standalone its showing the engine load being at 97-98kpa? which is pretty much -1 vacuum. could this be a problem?
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated

Year old gas is not helping any.
Did you adjust the valves correctly?
When ours wouldn't start, found that because we had painted the thermostat housing, the ECU ground wire is not making a good contact. Had to move the ECU ground wire to the head.
Also you don't want to paint the matting surfaces at the block to tranny, ground issue.

well i bought it built, valves were adjusted, i just cleaned the gas out and put in 94octane. I had some things painted but would i still get a spark if i had a bad ground? i even tried putting another ground in to try and help, still nothing. Timing is corrected now

check the plugs make sure they drie n clean even if u getting spark ,check gap,run a wire from neg on batt to fire wall then valve cover near gears then hit block then rad support this way ur rig is grounded no matter whattry n hit ur tranny alsotry starter fluid
when its turning over do u smell gas change fuel filter clean injectors and check the fuel reg see if vac line has hole in it check fuel tank n pump cause mines was dirty rusty with one yr old fuel or just drain tank and put in new gas but still take off and check pump for restrictions

i smell gas, when i pull the plugs they are wet sometimes, timing light shows i am getting spark. I have checked the gap.
see i am running RC 1000cc injectors and wired in a resistor box to one of the dead plugs in the back. But there has been fuel going in because the plugs smell and do have some gas on them.
i should also tell you guys that its turbo'd with a Gt3076R but boost is at 0. I am running AEM EMS but when cranking over there is no vacuum, then when i plug in my stock ECU i get some vacuum.

you could be flooding ur plugs out, so take them out and clean them and drie them
make sure the gap on the plugs are right
run a 10gauge wire from te negative terminal on ur batt to ur fire wall from there keep it going and ground it on the valve cover near the cam gears where ever a 10mm screw is located and finish it off at ur radiator support (car grounded)
can u smell gas after turning it over for a while?
do u have fuel pressure?
are all four injectors firing correctly? pull them off and see also u can spray some clean on them for safe mearsures
check or change ur fuel filter
check ur gas tank(see what color the fuel is"red is bad")
check fuel pump(look for any restrictions that can hamper flow)
did u mix ur bad fuel with the good fuel? try to empty tank then purge system
the bad fuel i had in my car left a residue plus carbon on my valves which stop them from closing all the way. I had to remove valves and clean my ports and put it back together and the car started right up like a new car

i have pressure, i am not sure if all injectors are squirting the right way, i hooked up a volt meter and did see a little spike when cranking. the fuel tank was drained and i did prime a good portion of fresh gas through. pump has no restrictions, (when priming the new fuel) the car has never been turned over so carbon build up is out of the question.
still leaves me with weak spark, bad ground, injector not working the way it should be

ur alomost there bro
do like 1992si said instead put a couple drips of oil into each cylinder and spray some gas into intake mani crank over
it should try to start

take one injector 1 by 1 and put 12v str8 to it from batt and see if it works u can leave it installed on manifold
u have to find out if fuel is comin out those injectors
