Default Building 200 WHP

With a b16a Hydro ..... thoughts on what I will need to do right now im looking at an intake manifold, throttle body, double springs, titanium retainers and , skunk2 spec 2 cams,... along with my dac intake, dc 4-1 headers test pipe and tanabe exhaust ..... Think that will put me close ? what else you think i should be concidering ?

Im sporting you all the way on that, whats the point of adding instant power to your engine and making a hassle to work on it. Id much rather get all the power i can, then strap on a drag 3 and smoke the locals. 200whp? Why would you want to build your engine to only 200? My little cx is already pushing 300whp

it's gonna take some RPM to get there. Since the B16A is a little anemic on torque, your gonna have to get the horsepower by way of rpm's. If you can maintain 125 ft-lbs at 8500 rpm's you'll be making 205 HP. I would recomend high comp pistons in order to keep the power from dying off up top. Also a short runner intake manifold, like say the JG Eddelbrock Victor X, and definently an upgraded valve train; nicer valve springs, titanium retainers, stainless valves (less weight), and some bigger cams (check out crowers). Maybe even an electric water pump, as not to have the parasitic drag at high rpm's.

I'm also trying to hit 200+ NA... seems like the best way to do it is either compression or go to 1.8 by means of a stroker or a B18C block. I'm sitting just under 190 with JUN III head and some other things. Compression is about 11:1 roughly.

what engine you using ? mods list ? exact hp from them ? what RPM do you get those numbers from ? ... For my daily driver hitting 200 hp at 13,000 RPM .. Dosent do me much good ... Thanks for all the good advice so far guys ! Ill let you know it goes !

If you want 13,000 rpm's you can buy my CBR! Otherwise good luck on any kind of budget. 200hp N/A isn' t as easy, AKA, cheap as you may think even when measured at the flywheel. Good luck, let us know what you come up with.

200 is a goal ... Its something to work to .... So I can say 50 more hp .. and those cams gave me 15....... Otherwise I dont have any way to "keep score" If you know what I mean ... and I said I dont want to rev to 13,000 I want to make usable power

nto revving to 13k... just 9,5k. I'm doing this with a B16 so far. Like I mentioned I still want to trade up to a B18C bottom for more torque and displacement. I think overall the cams with the compression was the biggest stepping stone to get to close to the 200 whp mark. Mainly I'm using all JUN except for the stroker kit, cams, gears, valve springs, retainers, header, flywheel, clutch. And then I'm tuning it with Hondata III. There is no AC or PS attached to the motor. I'm using a special blend of oils for the motor and regular 92 oct. fuel. I won't bump up the oct. until I go to 12.5:1+ compression. I know that if I were to change compression 200 whp should be VERY attainable. If you want a complete list of mods pm me.

1.8 or 2.0 block 11.5-12.5 compression and skunk stage 2's. and a hondata ecu should bring you to 190-195 w/ the 1.8 and closer to 210 w/ the 2.0

200whp is possible from a B16. It just takes money . Just curious what is your set up b/c I am at 200.3whp with a JUN III head but I have a crazy 12.5:1 (at least) cr?

FrostyDC4

can you elaborate on your setup please? go into specifics.!

It sounds like my setup (currently being built) is going to be similar to yours, and i was curious as to how much power i could expect

Thanks

going n/a is way too expensive for me. but good luck, i know i'd rather have a 300+whp n/a car. but i don't think i could afford the build up. tell us how it goes when you're done.
