What are some stats on the 1986 and 1987 LTD Buick Regals? torque, hp, 1/4 time, 0-60 mph time, etc.

Also, what's the difference in the 1986 and the 1987 LTD model?

I'm not sure which year, but You will get rocked if you race a 3.8 turbo. Those are awesome cars, and you shouldn't mess with them.

 

235 bhp, 330lb/ft of torque, turbocharged 3.8L V6 w/ Air-to-Air intercooler--- that was the '86 model, then in '87 they upped power to 245bhp and 355lb/ft torque. In '87, there was a rare GNX trim which had a ceramic impeller on the turbo, 15psi of boost, bigger intercooler, fender vents for heat dispersion which made 275bhp and 360lb/ft torque.

The stock '87 ran 14.23 seconds @ 98 mph and thet GNX ran 13.43 seconds @ 103 mph.

I've raced one on the highway and beat it, but I have turbo myself. His was all raked and had traction bars. I have no idea what he had done to the motor, but I pulled pretty hard on him in 4th.

The 89 Trans am anaversery pace car edition had the Buick 3.8 litre turbo in it. The intercooler was from the GNX.

GN's are easily 12-second cars with mild work
10 second GN's are not uncommon ... so watch your *** ...

 

yes, seriously do no mess with one if you think it is anything other than stock you will most likely be spanked, they take to bolt ons and tuning amazingly well. My best friend just sold his and he had about $2k into the engine with a slightly larger turbo and it would kick out the back on dry asphalt at 90mph (thats actually how he got it for a song, the previous owner had it shift while going around a corner under boost, *** went out and slapped a telephone pole)
