Default broken dizzy cap bolt..help?

well i planned on changing my dizzy cap and rotor tonight, since ive owned the car for nearly 3 years and never changed it. nor do i know if the previous owner did. so anyways as i was removing the bottom bolt, it snapped! i assume im going to have to drill it out. so my questions are.

is it difficult to remove the distributor, just remove the 3 bolts and slide it out im assuming? also, does anyone know what size tap i'll need to re-thread it?

I've done that .

Luckily, the broken part stuck out enough on the valve cover side that I could grab it with vice-grips and twist it out. Usually, that's what happens if you over-tighten that bolt and it breaks - it will stick out through the other side a little bit.
