Today i noticed one of the bolts holding on the distributor cap is broken off in the distributor, any ideas on how to get it out? Also could a loose distributor cap effect performance?

just get a screw extractor kit from sears. no you won't lose any power-I hardly doubt it since only one bolt is damaged.
