Man, I'm trying to break the ball joint off of my 87 Crx to remove the drive shaft, but dayam, its a biotchhhhhh. I thought it would be like a DC2, but it's not. I can't seem to find enough room to hammer it. I already busted the ball joint boot. (Anyone know how important that is and should I get it replaced?) I think a Ball Joint tool would work, but still, that seems like it would still be a biotchhhh. Any suggestions on what to do??

 

get a sledgehammer and ball joint separator. yes change ball joint also while you're at it
