the worst thing you can do to a motor during an "easy" break in is to keep it at one constant RPM. You want the motor to go up and down the rpm range, within reason, just like it does when you drive it on the street.

Since these are the rings I used, this is the procedure I followed. Although I didn't drive my car very agressive after the initial ring seating for the next 500 miles.

pull and decel are what seat rings , u have to work a motor to seal em up or u will never get a good seal, the hone cross hatch is what will break em in , if u take it easy then u will never seat them, i work in a automotive machine shop and my boss has built thousands of motors and ive seen what all types of breakins do. driv up a big mt and check the oil and what not and then drive down the montain decelerating letting the motor slow u down the hill , this will wear both sides of the rings and seal em , the first 100 miles will make u or break u , (break in period)thats why they call it a break in

Would the use of aluminum in a block differ the method of break in from say a iron block motor?? That article sort of makes ya think. </TD></TR></TABLE> yeh but I think more specifically he is bringing up the idea of the now possible closer tolerances the tighter fits between mating parts and moving parts that allow a "hard" break-in to be beneficial.

I broke my engine in hard and fast. Doesn't burn a drop of oil and runs like a champ.

MotoMan knows his **** IMHO.

That's what I did, 900+ miles and still going strong.
