Default braking system failing?

Recently I've been hearing low squeak noises when I brake, I could only hear it squeak when I'm driving with the music off. It doesn't make loud noise like buses do. Today, when I was driving and came to a stop light, I had my foot on the brake pedal. I felt that the pedal gradually went downward, and I had to step on it harder. As I stepped harder on it, I could feel that the car is moving forward a little bit but when I release my foot and step on it again the car stayed still. Then it starts again, after a little while holding the pedal down with my foot, the pedal gradual went down again. I checked the brake fluild, it's fine. I'm planning to bring it back to acura soon. My car is Auto, and driving and braking is fine on freeways, only happens when totally stopped at a stop sign or at a light with foot on pedal. What is wrong? Is it difficult to fix?

Sounds like it may just need to have the lines bled and new fluid added. This is neither difficult or expensive.

cough cough,

how long since the front brake pads were replaced?

the pads have a audible wear indicator that "squeals" when they wear down, check how hot the discs are getting(carefully) and also visually inspect the pads by taking the wheel off and looking at the gap between the pads and the calipers and see how much pad is actually left.

replace the pads if they dont have much left,

brakes wear quicker in autos, so im sure thats your problem.

get the discs machined if they have worn or warped...

t..

I had the exact same problem in my 89 CRX. I replaced the Master cylinder and it solved the problem. About 25 bucks at the salvage yard and a couple of hours later and I was good to go.
I also upgraded to a bigger MC. Mine was a dx and I replaced it with an Si.
